DJ Da Candy is coming to perform at Breathless Punta Cana September 26th & 27th

Do you have any nicknames?

“Candy” is my one and only nickname! I started my career as a part of R&B band. So when I started DJing I just added “Da” to the front, meaning that I’m the only one.

What is your favorite thing about being a DJ?

I’m really thankful that I have the opportunity to do what I love and share my music with the whole world. I am lucky enough to drop the sickest tracks, make music, share all the hard work I put in at the studio and dance along with the crowd during all my shows. I love seeing their crazy and happy faces. It’s a dream that have turned into my reality.

What is your go-to song to get the party started?

I don’t really have just one go-to song. It’s more of a mashup of about 4 but I love to start with “Tonight We’re Kids Again” by Dada Life. I just loved that loop in the beginning with the words “Candy pills Ice Cream thrills”, then I added some really pumping chords and when you hear that epic drop, that means “THE PARTY HAS STARTED!”

What is your idea of a perfect summer getaway?

I love beautiful settings that have the sun, ocean, white sand and plenty of palm trees. I love the Spanish language (I even have a tattoo in Spanish) My perfect summer getaway would have to be somewhere in Punta Cana, with that Spanish heat all over and blue eyed ocean.

What is your biggest turn on?/ What is your biggest turn off?

My biggest turn-on is a great sense of humor.  I consider myself a very fun person so I love people who can share a couple of funny jokes with me. My biggest turn-off is fake people. I don’t want anything to do with people who pretend to be someone else.

What is the recipe for a perfect summer fling?

Funny friends + a beach party + dancing the night away + my favorite tracks = my favorite kind of summer fling.

What is the worst pick up line that someone has given you? What about the best?

I honestly don’t remember a lot of the pickup lines I get. But I know I hate it when guys are rude and just try to show their strength. As for the best, I think it all depends on the energy of the person. It’s more of the chemistry than the pickup line, no one can explain why we like a person or don’t.

How do you Live Big and Breathe Deep?  

To Live Big and Breathe Deep to me means taking advantage of every opportunity you are given. I get to travel, meet other people and learn about their cultures. I try to pick the best things and incorporate them into my own life. I’m very energetic, so I can’t sit in one place for too long. I am always trying new things and trying to visit every place that is interesting to me. I do bicycle rides, surfing and everything that comes in touch with a nature.

What does Breathless Resorts & Spas mean to you?

Breathless Resorts & Spas means having your breath taken away. And for me that means the spa! Everyone loves the spa, me especially. All the treatments make me feel so relaxed and happy after all my energetic tries at different sports. As one man said “Illusion is the first of all pleasures”, so what we see is how we build our own world in mind. I think Breathless Resorts is definitely a must see.

What is the one thing people should know/expect from your shows?

That it’s going to be crazy, fun and full of your favorite songs. I love all the shouting, sing-a-longs, jumps and all the party stuff. On the stage I really lose myself in the music. I love acting and playing with the crowd so we can just simply lose ourselves in this moment and be who we are. We are young, crazy, fun, wild, free, loud and endlessly happy people.
