Cenotes (meaning “sacred well” in Mayan) are natural underground swimming holes. Go for a swim in the bright and clear turquoise pools, which are mineral-rich. There are thousands of cenotes in the Yucatan peninsula, but a great option is to experience the cenotes named after the four elements: Earth, Wind, Fire and Air.
TULUM
Tulum – it’s a town, but also a breathtaking, oceanfront archaeological site. It is regarded as one of the most visually striking Mayan ruins because of the beautiful contrast of the Caribbean Sea and the ancient stone structures.
